The Mobius ARP [L] – Leader course is intended for those who have taken the lead role in a reliability and performance improvement program. You may be responsible for the outcomes of a team of reliability, maintenance or asset management personnel at one or multiple sites.
The aim of this course is to set you up for success.
While technical knowledge is usually a necessity in this role, it is also essential that the team manager can lead people, communicate frequently and clearly, and have strong budget and project management skills.
The course will cover some of the challenges that you may face and some tools to develop a proactive strategy for overcoming those hurdles.
Prior ARP [E] Engineer Certification is highly recommended, but not compulsory.

- Establishing the economic value that can be achieved
- Developing or modifying the strategy
- Understanding motivation, human error and psychology
- Assessing workplace culture and change management
- Leadership, buy-in and employee engagement
- Discipline, control and standards in maintenance and operations
- Caring for equipment and spares
- Acquiring for lowest life cycle costs and reliability
- Asset Health (CBM) monitoring and inspections
- Using analytics for decision-making, review and improvement
- Optimising the program and improving the strategy

Classroom Course Format:
The course is taught in the classroom over 5 days.
Distance Learning Course Format:
The course consists of videos of short studio recordings, totalling 48 hours, presented by Jason Tranter, the internationally renowned Mobius founder. The course is very comprehensive and informative, with audio commentary and animated visual slides.
A bound, colour-printed course manual is provided for students to study offline.
Students have 4 months to complete the course.
If more time is required, online access can be extended by one year.
Prerequisites
Anyone can do the course and exam, however ARP [L] Certification requires:
- A minimum of 48 months’ relevant work experience
- Completing all the modules of the whole course in the classroom or on-line.
- Passing the 3-hour, 100 question multiple choice exam with a minimum of 70% correct answers.
Certification:
Certification is provided by Mobius Institute Board of Certification. MIBoc is an accredited certification body per ISO/IEC 17024. There is no higher standard of certification.
Certification is valid for 3 years. Re-certification requires an application fee and updating work experience.
Exam:
Classroom Students: The exam is on the afternoon of the fifth day.
Distance Learning Students:
The exam is available on-line after course completion at a location of choice, supervised by an approved independent invigilator. There is no time limit on when the exam can be taken.
