The Mobius Institute ARP [A] Advocate course is essential learning for managers, planners, supervisors, project engineers, graduate engineers, operations and manufacturing personnel.
People in these roles are generally not working full-time on reliability issues, but may still manage, initiate or contribute to equipment reliability improvements. The course teaches the fundamentals causes of equipment failures, the benefits of improved reliability, defect elimination and maintenance strategies.
Reliability is everyone’s responsibility, and this course is designed as the foundation for plant-wide improvement initiatives by showing how unreliability is influenced by the company culture, initial design, operations, maintenance practices, stores handling, procurement and asset maintenance strategy.
Whether your organization manufactures products or a commodity; provides an essential service, relies on mechanical or electrical equipment, has either fixed plant or mobile equipment, this course will provide a thorough explanation of how and why to improve reliability and equipment performance.

Classroom Course Format:
The course is taught in the classroom over 2 ½ days.
Students can attend a public class, or the course can be run on-site or inhouse.
Distance Learning Course Format:
The course consists of videos of short studio recordings, totalling 24 hours, presented by Jason Tranter, the internationally renowned Mobius founder.
The course is very comprehensive and informative, with audio commentary and animated visual slides.
A bound, colour-printed course manual is provided for students to study offline.
Students have 4 months to complete the course.
If more time is required, the time allocation can be extended for one year.
Prerequisites
Anyone can do the course and exam, however ARP [E] Certification requires:
- A minimum of 6 months’ work experience
- Completing all the modules of the whole course in the classroom or on-line.
- Passing the 2-hour, 60 question multiple choice exam with a minimum of 70% correct answers.
Certification:
Certification is provided by Mobius Institute Board of Certification. MIBoc is an accredited certification body per ISO/IEC 17024. There is no higher standard of certification.
Certification is valid for 3 years. Re-certification requires an application fee and updating work experience.
Exam:
Classroom Students: The exam is on the morning of the third day.
Distance Learning Students: The exam is available on-line after course completion at a location of choice, supervised by an approved independent invigilator.
There is no time limit on when the exam can be taken after completing the course.
