The ARP [E] Engineer course is intended for reliability engineers, those who are transitioning into a reliability role and people who are directly involved in asset management or performance improvement.
These roles need an in-depth knowledge of the reliability and performance improvement process including how to develop an asset strategy, how to use appropriate analytical tools and what the key tasks are to ensure measurable and sustainable results.
The course covers all the areas that are necessary to be able to address the causes of equipment unreliability and how to identify, prioritise and cost-effectively fix reliability issues.
Positions suited to this course are reliability engineers, maintenance engineers, asset improvement engineers, technical service engineers, condition monitoring engineers and asset managers.

Classroom Course Format:
The course is taught in the classroom over 5 days.
Students can attend a public class, or the course can be run on-site or inhouse.
Distance Learning Course Format:
The course consists of videos of short studio recordings, totalling 38 hours, presented by Jason Tranter, the internationally renowned Mobius founder.
The course is very comprehensive and informative, with audio commentary and animated visual slides.
A bound, colour-printed course manual is provided for students to study offline.
Students have 4 months to complete the course.
If more time is required, the time allocation can be extended for one year.
Prerequisites
Anyone can do the course and exam, however ARP [E] Certification requires:
- A minimum of 24 months’ work experience
- Completing all the modules of the whole course in the classroom or on-line.
- Passing the 3-hour, 100 question multiple choice exam with a minimum of 70% correct answers.
Certification:
Certification is provided by Mobius Institute Board of Certification. MIBoc is an accredited certification body per ISO/IEC 17024. There is no higher standard of certification.
Certification is valid for 3 years.
Re-certification requires an application fee and updating work experience.
Exam:
Classroom Students: The exam is on the afternoon of the fifth day.
Distance Learning Students:
The exam is available on-line after course completion at a location of choice, supervised by an approved independent invigilator. There is no time limit on when the exam can be taken.
