Thermal Imaging Training: Excel with Reliability Institute

Thermal imaging is a critical tool in predictive maintenance, enabling early detection of equipment anomalies, electrical issues, and mechanical failures. Our certified thermal imaging training focuses on the application of thermal imaging techniques in diverse industrial settings, ensuring that participants gain practical insights and hands-on experience relevant to their specific sectors.

In industries like mining, where the efficient functioning of heavy machinery is crucial, thermal imaging can identify potential equipment failures before they escalate, preventing costly downtime and ensuring operational continuity. Similarly, in the food & beverage and pharmaceutical sectors, where precise temperature control is vital for product quality and safety, thermal imaging plays a pivotal role in monitoring and maintaining optimal conditions.

The oil & gas and chemical industries benefit from thermal imaging by detecting overheating components, identifying leaks, and assessing insulation integrity, thus mitigating the risk of hazardous situations. Water utilities rely on thermal imaging for inspecting pipelines, pumps, and valves to preemptively address potential issues and optimise the reliability training of their infrastructure.

The ISO 18436-7 Category I Infrared Thermography course (IRT CAT 1) is delivered as online training, so students can study at their own pace and in a time that suits them.

The course is made up of comprehensive studio recorded videos, with audio commentary and animated visual slides and a colour bound printed course manual is provided to follow the course and study offline.

The IRT CAT 1 course prepares you to either use Infrared Thermography or be confident to understand how it can be used by others in a preventive maintenance program. You will learn the fundamentals of infrared energy and the camera, and you will learn about the most common applications.

With the assistance of the Mobius Institute interactive simulations, 3D animations, and a wealth of case studies, you will not require a great memory to learn all the facts and concepts. As a result, you will understand the ‘science’ of infrared thermography. You will understand how the camera functions and learn about plant equipment’s mechanical and electrical failure modes so that you can accurately and confidently detect and diagnose a wide range of fault conditions.

You will come away from the course with the knowledge and confidence to be successful as an infrared thermographer or understand its applications.
